CHATEAU
The chateau, constructed in stone in 1768 on earlier foundations, forms a square around a landscaped formal courtyard with an arched entrance to the north. The wine storage chai forms a large part of the north side. There are square towers on each end of the pretty south facing façade. This southern section contains the formal living area which has retained many of its original features including high ceilings and spacious rooms, with original fireplaces. This area of the chateau is entered from the courtyard into an impressive reception hall and flanked by a long wide corridor. On the exterior of the south façade there is a double curved stone staircase to a viewing terrace looking out towards the formal parterre garden. The west wing, formally servants quarters, needs restoration.
The east wing contains a tastefully renovated self contained house used as a gite. This gite has an adjacent terrace, swimming pool and garden on its eastern side. (Another gite is located just east of the chateau.)
