Place de Minage is probably the prettiest small residential square in Angouleme. It's gravelled heart contains a beautiful ornate cast iron fountain and the square is lined with typical French trees and period lighting features. At Christmas, the square holds its traditional weekend
"Foire", with marquees and local produce on sale, and the trees are decked in lights from early December until well into late January. In the Summer, the square is a tranquil oasis but the Shops and Cafe-Bars of Central Old Angouleme can be found only a 100 metres walk away.
